Song in the Clouds Episodes 14 and 15 Recap

So I typed this a couple of weeks ago when these episodes were airing. Lately I started a new job and with that came a lot of other things I had to take care of so no time to even watch dramas.

My plan is to 1) find what I've written and edit, and 2) summarize some episodes and describe scenes I like more in more depth. This way, I'll at least sort of catch up.



Episode 14 

Yun Ge goes to the temple with Xu Ping Jun and afterwards decides to leave. Meng Jue who chose Yun Ge over Huo Cheng Jun (power) is distraught that Yun Ge left him. Then there’s more politics.

Meng Jue wants to go outside the borders and look for Yun Ge (since Yun Ge was heading home) when he finishes with what he is working on. This is when Official Huo sends wedding presents (even though he knows that Meng Jue doesn’t want to marry into his family)—in politics, this is apparently a warning to Meng Jue.

Then there’s more planning to kill off the emperor.

Liu Fu Ling eats at Qi Li Xiang and asks about the chef because the food tastes different. The restaurant owner hears that the chef is called Yun Ge and uses the name Ya Chu (elegant chef). He tells Liu Fu Ling that if he found Xu Ping Jun he could potentially find Yun Ge. They go to her house and wait.

Xu Ping Jun says that Yun Ge was returning to outside the borders and Liu Fu Ling tries to chase after her. Yu An convinces Liu Fu Ling to stay and they happen to pass Yun Ge that night. Then the people who wanted to kill Liu Fu Ling decide to attack. They send balls of fire encasing masked assassins to try to kill the emperor. Yun Ge sees this and Meng Jue does too. Meng Jue is advised to stay away so he does not get pulled into it and mistaken for an assassin.

Yun Ge tries to escape but Yu An chases after and Meng Jue tries to save Yun Ge. Meng Jue loses Yun Ge and they don’t see Yu An bring her back in a bag. We also see Huo Yu (Huo Cheng Jun’s brother) is the one who tried to assassinate the emperor.

The emperor is curious about the assassin and goes to see the assassin. Yu An kicks Yun Ge and the emperor recognizes her as Bai He.

Episode 15

Liu Fu Ling tells Yu An to take care of Bai He until she is well.

Liu Fu Ling meets with Meng Jue as planned. Meng Jue talks about Huo Yu’s motives and how he has seemed suspicious. He asks for the chance to figure out what was going on to atone for his wrongs.

Official Huo is angry with Huo Yu. Huo Yu’s mom makes him take a medicinal bath for his own good. Huo Cheng Jun lets Meng Jue see his brother in exchange for a future favor. Seems like the medicinal bath has made him ill and gave him scars. Guess the medicinal bath was to make him seem too ill to have been part of the assassination.

The queen tries to invite the emperor on a date but the emperor says that he has a headache (not a good sign…) and is busy so he cannot.

People try to kill Meng Jue while he is drunk and sad about Yun Ge.

Yun Ge wakes up and is very ill. Yu An tries to punish her but she is too ill to punish. They go through the assassin’s (Yun Ge’s) belongings and found the award that the emperor awarded Ya Chu.

The emperor sees this and asks what else is in her belongings and they find her lotus bag that he recognizes as Yun Ge’s bag. While she is ill she dreams about Ling Gege and wakes up to see Liu Fu Ling.

Yu An tells Liu Fu Ling that since Yun Ge had an arrow pierce her lungs, it would leave lasting effects.

They decide to stay in Gan Guan Palace in the mountains to take care of Yun Ge. They decide to still call her Bai He until they acknowledge each other. Liu Fu Ling takes care of Yun Ge.

Meanwhile we see that Meng Jue ended up in jail and he catches Yu An and blackmails others to give him a horse to escape. Meng Jue explains that he was blamed for killing someone and thrown in jail and he will make sure others see his innocence.

Liu He and his Shi Fu tell Meng Jue that they have not been able to find Yun Ge.

Huo Heng Jun and her mom visit the queen to give her a present, but more importantly to ask if she has started sleeping with the emperor.

What are your thoughts on fewr pictures in posts?  Images are what take me a while to edit in. I'm trying out this format to see if there is interest. Fewer images means I can just type while watching and posts will likely be much faster. I know I like to look at images while reading, but if readers are following along with the drama, then it may be alright ~ Please let me know!
