Song in the Clouds Episodes 14 and 15 Recap

So I typed this a couple of weeks ago when these episodes were airing. Lately I started a new job and with that came a lot of other things I had to take care of so no time to even watch dramas.

My plan is to 1) find what I've written and edit, and 2) summarize some episodes and describe scenes I like more in more depth. This way, I'll at least sort of catch up.

Song in the Clouds Episodes 12-13 Recap

Guess drama marathons are super productive to recaps. I marathoned about 6 episodes the other night and am now just editing what I had written up. Episodes 12-13 are centered around Meng Jue. Though I'm not his biggest fan in the novel, I do think I like him better in the drama. This is not to say he is my choice in male lead, but I still like him a lot more than what he was written to be.

I've finally semi-caught up with watching this week. This past week has been much more busy than expected but now that I have stuff written some stuff down, I just need to edit before posting. Like I predicted these next couple of episodes have a lot more politics so I recapped the fun scenes and skimmed on politics. I dont think it actually takes away from the drama to not watch for every detail of the politics.

Song in the Clouds Episode 9 Recap

This episode is hopefully the end of all of Yun Ge's moping over the fake Ling Gege. There have been some chatter that Du Chun is not a good fit (due to looks) for the character Meng Jue. I think his looks are similar to other male leads in Asian dramas. I agree that he does wear some hideous outfits. But based on looks alone, I think he looks better than Lu Yi as Ling Gege. And he isn't wearing nearly as much makeup as Chen Xiao as Liu Bing Yi. I only like Lu Yi best because of his character.

Song in the Clouds Episode 8 Recap

In this episode we get to see more of Meng Jue's actions and how he manipulates others to gain power. Though it isn't really what we may want in a male lead, I can't help but be impressed by how cunning and strategic he is. He's been hurt a lot all throughout his life but now that he has Yun Ge, maybe he'll have some real feelings.

Song in the Clouds Episode 7 Recap

A big part of this episode was character building since we get to see how each character thinks. We start to see a calculative side of Meng Jue and also how Liu Fu Ling stays true to his values (and still remembers his promise to Yun Ge). Both male leads also get time with Yun Ge. I wonder who everyone is rooting for after this episode.

"Alright!" This mirrors my current outlook on recaps for Song in the Clouds.

This episode was quite eventful so I'm recapping it on its own. With this episode done, I'm making good headway catching up to the weekly updates. Thankfully this drama isn't a daily drama!

In this episode, Yun Ge finally meets the second male lead as an adult. Though she still isn't the brightest bulb out there, she seems to be more reserved in this episode.

Song in the Clouds First Impressions

Song in the Clouds also known as Yun Ge from the Desert is a novel adaptation currently airing. Not sure how I feel about it after the major changes made due to SARFT since I only just finished the first two episodes. So far, the drama adaptation seems to be very different. Other than some of the main character names, the plot also seems quite different.
