Love Me if You Dare Episode 1 Recap

Love Me if You Dare

First Episode!!! I've been so excited for this to come out that I wrote and edited this before the next episodes for Song in the Clouds.

Episode 1

Love Me if You Dare

Love Me if You Dare

Bo Jin Yan is chained and acting like a madman. Seems like it is a nightmare.

Xun Ran and Jian Yao’s sister pick up Jian Yao when she arrives in town to take her home but instead she asked to be dropped off at an interview. At the interview Fu Zi Yu gives her an article to translate as a test and she passes with flying colors.

Love Me if You Dare

She calls Fu Zi Yu, Mr. Bo. He asks her to guess what his profession is and she determined that he was through her observations that though he seems clean like a doctor, he is likely not a surgeon. She noted that he was good with the mouse and guesses that he is works with computers. Then she guesses that Fu Zi Yu is not Mr. Bo. Fu Zi Yu is shocked that she guessed this but instead she says that she guessed it because there was an article about Bo Jin Yan on the table with Bo Jin Yan’s photo. After the interview she tells Xun Ran that the job is definitely going to be hers!

Fu Zi Yu asks Bo Jin Yan if Bo Jin Yan intentionally put the magazine with his photo on the table to test Jian Yao’s observation skills. Answer: Yes.

Jian Yao gets the job offer in the mail. Xun Ran (police officer) says Bo Jin Yan sounds familiar and Jian Yao jokes that it is because Bo Jin Yan is a criminal. Xun Ran is concerned but Jian Yao said it was a joke and even if he did have a criminal history, he only just returned from America so there would be no record in China.

Meanwhile Bo Jin Yan has a recurring nightmare of someone tormenting him.
Xun Ran discusses the case at the police station.

Love Me if You Dare

Jian Yao walks around Bo Jin Yan’s house while at work and hears weird (sawing? And thumping?) sounds coming from a room and sees Bo Jin Yan come out in a hazmat suit.

Then we get to see Bo Jin Yan as chef cooking fish. Meanwhile Jian Yao is still translating at the house when the electricity goes out. Scared and hungry she walks around till she finds the kitchen and makes fish. Bo Jin Yan walks in and tries the fish (without her permission) and comments that the fish was disgusting. Overcooked, too much salt.

We then see him cooking a better version of what she had cooked and just leaves it for her in the kitchen. After trying it even she could tell that it was better.

When investigating a noise, a window cracks and Bo Jin Yan comes to the rescue with night glasses and carries her to the couch so she doesn’t step on glass. Afterwards they agree that his fish was better though she adds that he was too harsh. He leaves after saying

Comments:

This episode seemed so short. It was a lot of pretty scenery and quite cute. But for some reason I haven't really seen the chemistry yet. I like the wide-angeled shots and fun music, but there really wasn't that much substance for this particular episode and the flow seemed slightly choppy.

Maybe it's because I've seen the many trailers too many times that this episode just wasnt new/exciting. I will still be watching though in hopes for more excitement! *fingers crossed*

  1. Thank you for the recap, and also for posting so quickly! I've been haunting your site anticipating this, lol.
I, too, have high hopes that the drama will turn out exciting. The chemistry still has time to build, but so far I like the leads individually.
I hope you'll keep writing recaps, and... I assume you're familiar with the novel? I'd love it if you could comment from time to time on how faithful the drama script stays to the novel. I'm really curious about that and, alas, can't figure out by myself since I don't have the skills to read the C-novel. ;(

    1. You're welcome adnanaj! Have you been keeping up with the C-novel translation? I haven't because I read the novel in Chinese a couple of years ago. The details are slightly fuzzy, but one major difference so far is that Fu Zi Yu's profession changed. He was a doctor in the novel and now he is an IT/computer guy.

I will definitely keep this in mind for future recaps! Hopefully I will be semi-caught up by the end of this weekend. *determined*
